![]() Volunteers are needed in all areas. In times of a disaster, Emergency Social Services will provide food and lodging . As a member of ESS, you would respond to a reception center, probably a school or church hall where people would be registered, fed and given a place to rest. Contact Maxine at 250-642-3850. Communications is primarily but not necessarily Amateur Radio Operators who would provide a radio link with the reception centers, the Emergency Operation Centers (EOC's), or the Provincial Emergency Program (PEP). Contact Bruce at 250-652-4584. As a member of the Disaster Response Team (DRT) / Search & Rescue (SAR) you might be called upon at any time of the day or night to assist in a search for a lost soul.
