Volunteer

Are you looking for a way to become involved in your community? Consider volunteering with one of the Peninsula Emergency Measures Organization groups:

Emergency Social Services (ESS): In times of a disaster, Emergency Social Services will provide food and lodging. As a member of ESS, you would respond to a reception center, probably a school or church hall where people would be registered, fed and given a place to rest.

Neighbourhood Emergency Preparedness Program (NEPP): Volunteers educate residents, businesses and organizations about the importance of preparing for emergencies or disasters. If you enjoy sharing information with others, public speaking and answering questions, we invite you to apply to volunteer with us.

Search and Rescue (SAR): As a member of the Search & Rescue (SAR) team you might be called upon at any time of the day or night to assist in a search for a lost soul. This group is on standby 24/7 and not limited to disasters as such.

Communications: When normal communications are down Amateur Radio Operators would provide a radio link with the reception centers, the Emergency Operation Centers (EOC’s), or the Provincial Emergency Program (PEP).
